Mechanical Engineering
AIZOTH’s Multi-Sigma platform empowers mechanical engineers to model complex systems, accelerate design iterations, and optimize performance using minimal simulation or experimental data. Built for numerical workflows, Multi-Sigma applies surrogate modeling, sensitivity analysis, and multi-objective optimization to extract valuable insights from simulation and test results.
In mechanical R&D, even small design changes can trigger nonlinear or compounding effects. Multi-Sigma allows teams to predict those effects with confidence to identify critical variables, modeling interdependencies, and optimizing under real-world constraints.
Recent applications include:
Crash Simulation Modeling
Multi-Sigma was used to build a high accuracy surrogate model for abdominal injury prediction from only 14 CAE crash simulation cases. Factor analysis identified how seatbelt mounting positions and occupant body size influence injury risk, and optimization identified safer configurations even within narrow design constraints.Artificial Heart Design Optimization
In the development of a centrifugal blood pump, engineers used Multi-Sigma to reduce simulation workload by over 99% by building a surrogate model from just 50 CFD results. The model enabled accurate prediction of thrust force and hemolysis index, revealed that groove depth (not count) was the key contributor, and produced a Pareto curve to identify optimal tradeoffs between thrust and blood cell safety.MEMS Sensor Process Optimization
For MEMS sensors, Multi-Sigma predicted performance metrics based on seven manufacturing parameters. Factor analysis quantified each parameter’s impact, and optimization routines recommended ideal conditions. This greatly reduced experimental cycles and development time.
Multi-Sigma core features:
Surrogate Modeling for rapid iteration without excessive CAE or physical tests
Contribution & Chain Analysis to map variable impact across multi-step systems
Multi-Objective Optimization under realistic design and manufacturing constraints
Scalable Inputs/Outputs handling dozens or hundreds of parameters with no manual reduction
